April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is one of only a handful of female beach volleyball players to be able to do so. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to win her third gold medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. In addition, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. There is a chance that she has one chance at winning, as she's 39 old. She's certain that the top prizes are within reach. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they play their best, or play a great game, she believes the team could win a gold medal. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of good luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. In Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of activities. When she was a student in the prep school she played the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running track. Though she excelled when playing indoors but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than the average. When she played in her college volleyball season as per her college biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. In recognition of her accomplishments, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Her volleyball skills also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman have been continuing to play since 2017. The reality is that Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. It's true that she has been able to win multiple events, and one was won by an iconic volleyball player. The pair teamed together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's personal trainer. Along together with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009 when she competed on the international circuit. The 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans after her high school days. This was years before Ross went to the sand and turned pro. Her career was a success during her time in the college. As a freshman in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and earned an All-American. Also, she was an integral player to help the Trojans to make it to it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season she suffered a devastating personal loss and still earned the distinction of being an All-American. During her final two seasons with the Trojans team, she led them to success by winning two successive national titles. In 2003-2004, she was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in the United States according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Sadly, Ross mother Margie never got to see Ross rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie has been an inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
