Kate Hudson is a talented actor, best-known for her character Penny Lane in the Hollywood film Almost Famous which resulted in her receiving an Academy Award nomination. Her birthplace was a clan of film stars and appeared to have a natural talent for the limelight. Her mother, Goldie Hawn, is an established film actor, while her father, Bill Hudson, is comedian. She loved performing since she was a child and would jump at the chance to sing and dance on stage. Her parents made sure she got dancing instruction, and she also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a child. In the year 1996, she was offered a role as a guest on the TV drama Party of Five. She was accepted into New York University, however, Kate Hudson was more interested in seeking a job in show business rather than earning a degree. After acting in minor films, she was offered the role which would become an important part of her career. The role she was cast in was Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. Though the film didn't do very well at the box office , it was well-received by the critics and resulted in Kate a star in the American film industry.
